The Ile de la Lagune has made exclusivity its leitmotif. The hotel has a truly privileged location on a private island in the Languedoc-Roussillon, region of France, adjacent to six kilometers of intact beaches. The main building, surrounded by greenery and flowering gardens, resembles a film décor. Opened in 1992 and renovated in 2013 by architect Kristian Gavoille, the hotel possesses a contemporary chic and sober appearance. The emotional play of colors creates a daring blend of luxury and vintage with surprise after surprise in store for the guest. The rooms are inspired in part by the painter, Joan Miro as well as by the desire to revive the legendary Italian boats known as Rivas, by the use of white leather, mahogany and brushed stainless steel. The thalasso-spa on the top floor offers still another exclusivity as it is considered the most intimate in France. Its 600 square meters include 9 rooms of which five are for pure spa treatments, with the 4 others reserved for sea water therapy. To complete the panoply of exclusive services, the Almandin restaurant offers a gastronomic menu using products highlighting the sunny and pleasant way of life of the Languedoc-Roussillon region.

Saint-Cyprien

Saint-Cyprien is a totally charming beach resort on the Mediterranean Sea in the Roussillon region, about ten kilometers from the city of Perpignan.

As France’s third largest marina, Saint-Cyprien is a very popular destination, and its six kilometers of beach are an integral part of its popularity. The population increases sevenfold in summer! The resort is a first class choice for anyone seeking a little bit of paradise without having to leave the country, thanks to its highly attractive coast.

Its Mediterranean climate and abundant sunshine attracts more and more national and international tourists. Saint-Cyprien however, cannot be reduced to a simple beach resort. As part of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, it embodies the spirit of this special part of southern France, which in addition to being rugby countryand a land with renowned culinary specialties, is also a hospitable region, bathed in sunshine with intact nature and vestiges of its unique past. Sea and mountain come together here, nurturing legends that have intrigued the French imagination for centuries.

Exclusivity on every floor

The Ile de la Lagune is a boutique-hotel located on a private island surrounded by flowering gardens and adjacent to fantastic beaches. Although it’s difficult to resist such arguments, to stop there in describing the hotel would be unfair. The Ile de la Lagune takes the word “exclusivity” to its fullest meaning and not merely in terms of location.

It’s above all the story of a family, the Lormands, for whom hotels are a passion. They are in fact the owners of eleven properties.

The Ile de la Lagune opened in 1992 and was totally renovated in 2013 under the direction of architect, Kristian Gavoille, a former protégé of Philippe Starck. He describes his objectives in transforming the hotel into a chic and sober establishment combining luxury, design and furniture from a variety of eras in the following manner: “From the lobby as well as the restaurant, the rooms and the spa,I wanted everything to be a surprise…a surprise in colors, and with unique objects like this reception table and its transformed tree trunk. Every space at the Ile de la Lagune tells a story”.

The walls of the common areas are in tones of gray and taupe, whereas the dining room is in a surprising red color. Every detail has been carefully selected creating a global, well-executed sense of harmony.

The rooms are inspired by either the artist Joan Miro with furniture designed by the architect, touches of color on the walls and the ceiling, or by the mythical Italian boats known as Rivas with white leather, mahogany and brushed stainless steel.

Like the icing on the cake, the 600 square meters spa on the top floor is reputed to be the most intimate in France. With its nine rooms, five dedicated to spa treatments and four specializing in sea water therapy, it places the accent on a sense of privacy and cocooning.

The gastronomic restaurant, L’Almandin, highlights products from the rich Roussillon soil and completes the feeling of exclusivity practiced throughout the guest’s stay here. The Ile de la Lagune is an oasis of well-being and beauty which has invented a new approach to life and a new definition of charm.

The hotel is also a perfect starting point for discovering the region’s numerous sights including the vineyards of Banyuls, Figueres and its Dali Museum, Ceret, the city of painter,s and Collioure with its Vauban château.
