Playa del Carmen is a typically Mexican fishing village which, until a decade ago, was essentially known for its port where deep-sea diving enthusiasts the world over would embark for their dream island: Cozumel. This island of fine sand surrounded by a turquoise and transparent sea has, for a long time, attracted visitors eager to discover the ocean depths of this ancient Mayan site, with its numerous coral reefs, one more beautiful than the other, and its brightly colored small and large fish. Today, however, the popularity of Playa del Carmen is not uniquely linked to that of Cozumel, and does not only attract deep sea diving fans. It has become the little sister of Cancun, as it attracts more and more visitors every year who come from all over the world for its idyllic beaches and its electric atmosphere. The main thoroughfare of Playa del Carmen is the Quintana Avenida, a pedestrian Fifth Avenue with numerous boutiques and craftsmen as well as famous restaurants and bars where the city’s young people go to enjoy the excellent cocktails and the world’s best margaritas!

Located a few meters from one of Playa del Carmen’s most beautiful beaches, the Mosquito Blue Hotel & Spa warmly welcomes its guests in an authentic and design setting. This four-star hotel has totally succeeded in combining comfort with style. Its forty rooms and suites are relatively spacious with a refined décor. They’re all blue and yellow, the colors which characterize the hotel and symbolize the site’s two major players: the Caribbean Sea and the sun which shines almost all year long. The very classical Italian style wood furniture blends perfectly with the design lamps and the high tech equipment, all of which make each room a pleasant living space. The deluxe rooms have a lovely balcony with a view of the swimming pool and the hotel’s gardens, and the Master suites have a living room and a dining room for up to six people. Meals are served in the Mosquito Blue restaurant, which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine combined with local flavors and prepared by Chefs Francesco Incesti and Nicola Cafagno. The impressive wine list with a hundred different choices guarantees diners of the perfect accompaniment to their meal.
