The Six Senses Hideaway Hua Hin with its wooded paths bordered by palms and its lotus covered ponds, resembles a small Thai village. Ideally situated facing the Gulf of Siam, the villas of this resort are made with natural materials highlighting the traditional charm of the country. The contemporary décor of the 55 rooms were also inspired by nature. They each have a lovely private garden, a swimming pool and a personal butler. In this complex dedicated to well being, the spa is in perfect harmony with its surroundings. In the nine cabins, located around a pool scattered with lotus petals, treatments based on nature are administered. Freshly gathered fruits and vegetables are used to prepare the succulent culinary specialties served either on the terrace or in the Living Room restaurant. In this sumptuous tropical garden, the splendid Six Senses resort embodies luxury and harmony with nature.

Hua Hin

Hua Hin, Thailand’s oldest beach resort is located 200 kilometers from Bangkok. This former fishing village became a fashionable vacation destination under the reign of King Rama VI, who built a train station here with its own royal pavilion in order to reach it more easily. In 1929, his brother Prince Chakrabongse had a summer palace built with the evocative name of Klai Kangwon, meaning “far from all troubles.” Every year, the royal family would come here, and Hua Hin became the preferred resort for all of Thailand’s aristocracy. This golden teak palace is still used by the king’s family and can only be visited when it’s vacant.
Very popular with the inhabitants of Bangkok because of its proximity,
the coast has become less exclusive. On the beach front, we find numerous restaurants, shops, tourist agencies as well as hotels whose architecture often leaves something to desire. The old city however, with its labyrinth of narrow, winding streets and some fishermen’s houses has preserved its charm, and the incredibly long white sand beach has remained relatively unspoiled. Many families come here to relax and to practice water sports as well as to visit the numerous temples nestled in the cliff. The evening market is ideal for trying some freshly caught fish or shellfish.

A village dedicated to well being

With its trails paved with wood and bordered by palm trees, its brooks and ponds covered in lotus leaves, the Six Senses Hideaway Hua Hin looks like a small Thai village. The villas of this luxury resort face the Gulf of Siam and integrate perfectly with the surrounding nature. In accordance with the Six Senses group’s ecological principles, these houses with rounded walls are made of earth and wood.
The interior décor is in contemporary and design style; also inspired by nature with teak and bamboo furniture that blends harmoniously with natural, light colored materials like the crude linen of the mosquito net over the bed. Everything is surrounded by a whitewashed stonewall. The villas all have a lovely private garden, a swimming pool and a personal butler. Touches of vivid colors can be found everywhere including fuchsia, red and orange for the restaurant cushions, and green, yellow or white for the linen outfits of the staff. Even the bicycles available to guests for riding through the village have seats with colorful covers.
The same harmonious relationship between the architecture and nature can be found in the spa. The nine domed huts were built with a mixture of clayey mud, husks of grains of rice and straw are spread around a basin filled with lotus leaves. We reach the spa via a wooden footbridge. With an opening at the top, the domes made of earth allow a light breeze to enter creating natural ventilation. Treatments also come from nature. Avocados, papayas, coconuts, limes as well as aloe vera, cucumbers or the pandanus leaves that grow in the garden are used for the creation of body care treatment.
These freshly cut and gathered fruits and vegetables are also used to create the culinary specialties that guests can enjoy on the terrace of the Living Room restaurant or during private barbecues on the beach or during lunches in the Chef’s own vegetable garden. Luxury once again rhymes with nature.

The name Hua Hin signifies “head of stone” and has its origins in the rock that guards the superb, beautifully shaped bay.
