Prince de Galles Paris

5 stars, Art, Classic, Glamorous, Historic, Luxury, City, Cultural activities, Bar, Starred Chef, Gastronomy, Restaurant, Shopping

First opened in 1928 on the former Chaillot quarries, the Prince de Galles is one of the city’s Art Deco jewels. The origin of its name is simple, having been built to receive Edward VII, the Prince of Wales and son of George V, which is also the name of the avenue on which it stands, in the heart of the Golden Triangle. Elegant, fashionable and modern, the eight story building blends into landscape of the city which at the same time creates a refined setting for the hotel. The goal of the 27 months of renovation was to give the Prince de Galles a refreshing second youth in Art Deco style, now the hotel’s integral décor. A spacious hall in wood and marble tones provides a perfect harmony of color and materials. The lobby’s timeless elegance is warm and modern. The chandelier recalls the feathers of the Prince’s crown, and the 1910 style of the elevator has been preserved. Even with its 159 rooms, 44 of which are suites, the hotel reminds one of a private home. The style of the accommodations was designed by the celebrated interior architect, Pierre-Yves Rochon who marked the hotel with his typically French touch and Parisian charm. The rooms and suites are designed like 1930s apartments, and the atmosphere is one of delightful conviviality. Dramatically displayed photographs in the corridors celebrate the Parisian woman, her chic and her elegance, in short the eternal class of a legendary feminine role model. The goal of the La Scène restaurant is to make the gastronomy of palace hotels more accessible by offering a friendly and contemporary space in which the highest quality cuisine is made more understandable to guests through the interaction and sense of sharing created by an open kitchen. The cozy, urban and timeless Prince de Galles has been reborn and once again takes its place in the firmament of luxurious five star Parisian hotels.

Paris

Paris, the city of light and the city of love is a symbolic and an internationally reputed destination where visitors are thrilled to discover its different quarters as they stroll through its unique and charming streets. Every year, a huge number of tourists invade the capital to take in the chic, the elegance and the class for which France is renowned.

The famous Golden Triangle is one of the most prestigious areas in the capital, in the heart of the Champs-Elysees quarter. The western end of this paradise of luxury is the celebrated Avenue George V with its many boutiques, fashion houses and museums. This exceptional environment is extremely popular with both luxury brand names and celebrities, and represents a condensed version of the dream destination Paris offers its visitors. For a hotel to be situated here is a privilege and to be present for decades is inestimable.

The return of the Prince

When it reopened in 2013,the Prince de Galles was not hailed as a new Parisian hotel, but as the return of one of the city’s most representative establishments. It is certainly not an understatement to talk about this iconic hotel in mythical terms.

The building is typical of classic Parisian codes of elegance, style and modernity. Its eight stories blend into the city’s landscape, which at the same time, create a refined setting for the hotel. The goal of the 27 months of renovation was to give the Prince de Galles a refreshing second youth in Art Deco style, now the hotel’s integral décor. This carefully thought out decision is visible as soon as the visitor enters and finds himself in a spacious hall with tones of wood and marble.

The lobby’s timeless elegance is warm and modern. The chandelier recalls the feathers of the Prince’s crown, and the 1910 style of the elevator has been preserved.

Even with its 159 rooms, 44 of which are suites, the hotel reminds one of a private home. The style of the accommodations is the work of the celebrated interior architect, Pierre-Yves Rochon who marked the hotel with his typically French touch and Parisian charm. The rooms and suites are designed like 1930s apartments, and the atmosphere is one of delightful conviviality.

Dramatically displayed photographs in the corridors celebrate the Parisian woman, her chic and her elegance, in short the eternal class of a legendary feminine role model.

The goal of the La Scène restaurant is to make the gastronomy of palace hotels less formal by offering a friendly and contemporary space in which the highest quality cuisine is made more understandable to guests through the interaction and sense of sharing created by an open kitchen.

The cozy, urban and timeless Prince de Galles has been reborn and once again takes its place in the firmament of luxurious five star Parisian hotels.
