Atlantis The Palm

5 stars, Contemporary, Excessive , Unusual, Resort, Luxury, Seaside, City, Sports activities, Business, Bar, Wedding & Honeymoon, Gastronomy, Family friendly, Night club, Swimming pool, Beach, Restaurant, Shopping, Spa

Built on Dubai’s celebrated palm tree shaped Jumeirah Palm, the Atlantis The Palm is an out of the ordinary hotel to say the least. It boasts 1,539 rooms, 17 restaurants and bars, a night club, an immense spa treatment center and its own deluxe boutique shopping streets. It’s a veritable city within a city covering an area of 46 hectares, representing the lost city of Atlantis with the ocean theme omnipresent. Some of the suites are located near a labyrinth of 21 aquariums, two of which are underwater. The resort also has its own 17 hectare marine amusement park which among many other attractions possesses a pool where visitors are invited to swim with the dolphins. Both kitsch and ultra modern, Atlantis the Palm is considered by many to be the ultimate in luxury. In any case, it’s a unique site in the world symbolizing the “madness of magnitude.”

The city of grandeur

Since the 1990s, Dubai has become a paradise for the maddest, costliest and most extravagant projects. The oil and natural gas discovered in 1966 has enabled this former pearl fishing port to become a busy metropolis and an ultra-contemporary urban model. The city’s 1.5 million inhabitants welcome seven million visitors a year, adding another strong support to its thriving economy. Not however, just any tourist. One comes to Dubai in search of luxury that surpasses all limits, even the most excessive. Investors do not cower before anything, even the impossible, as illustrated by the Palm Jumeirah project, an artificial archipelago in the sea and in the form of a palm tree, with private residences, shops and of course, hotel complexes. It’s a unique site in the world which has become symbolic of the city’s ambition. Above all however, it’s here that one finds the true epitome of luxury in the form of a hotel that surpasses understanding.

A lost city reincarnated into a paradise of luxury

Atlantis The Palm, as its name indicates, revives the myth of the legendary lost city with a 1,539-room hotel whose theme is underwater life. This gigantic project was modelled after the Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, in the Bahamas, also owned by Sol Kerzner, a South African businessman with a penchant for huge projects like the Sun City Resort in his native country, often called the Las Vegas of Africa. Atlantis the Palm need not be jealous of its illustrious predecessors. On the contrary, this five star luxury resort lacks absolutely nothing. The simple truth is that guests can spend their entire vacation here without ever leaving the hotel, since it’s highly unlikely that a guest could exhaust all the activities and attractions offered by Atlantis The Palm. Exclusivity is personified by two 165 square meter suites which are unique in the world: the Lost Chambers Suites, situated under the water with a view of the Ambassador Lagoon. Both suites are adjacent to a labyrinth consisting of 21 aquariums facing the lagoon, and in which guests can admire more than 20 species of fish. The resort is also equipped with its own seventeen-hectare aquatic attraction park. Aquaventure, which among other attractions, contains a thirty-meter high tower and seven toboggans. In Dolphin Bay, visitors can swim with the dolphins. The list is endless. Atlantis The Palm can be defined as the ultimate luxury experience, an inexhaustible resort. In short, it’s on of the world’s unique sites which continues to make people dream.

Atlantis The Palm has seventeen restaurants and bars, a 2,000 square meter night club and its own commercial avenues full of luxury boutiques, not to mention an immense spa treatment center.
